This study aims to examine the effectiveness of project-based learning (PjBL) as a medium for strengthening students' character at the Junior High School (SMP) level. The focus of the characters studied includes responsibility, cooperation, and independence. This study uses a qualitative field research approach with subjects of 25 grade VIII students at a junior high school in SMPN 1 Mauk. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and triangulation. Then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PjBL through a project with the theme "Anti-Plastic Waste Campaign" is able to encourage students to complete tasks on time (responsibility), work actively in groups, and make decisions independently. These findings indicate that PjBL is effective in shaping students' character through meaningful learning experiences. This study recommends that teachers and schools integrate PjBL as a learning approach to support sustainable character education.
