Abstrak

Inafis (Indonesian Autometic Finger Print Identification System) is an identification system that has a data center and records each individual. The problem is what is the function of evidence and evidence in revealing the existence of a crime and what is the role of Inafis in uncovering the occurrence of crime in Tangerang City. Using empirical juridical research methods, which are descriptive analysis. This research is associated with Law No. 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police. This research is located at Polres Metro Tangerang City. The conclusion is that the function of evidence and evidence is very important in revealing the existence of criminal acts in the trial to strengthen the position of evidence and Inafis' role is no less important in finding the identity of the perpetrator, usually these fingerprints are easily attached to mirrors, plastic and metal. It is hoped that evidence and evidence can be used as sufficient initial evidence for the investigation process so that the investigation process can be more optimal and considering the role of fingerprints in finding a crime, the police should be able to tighten security at the scene of the case.
