237-244 THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING YOUTUBE IN TEACHING ENGLISH LISTENING TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

This study describes the effectiveness of using Youtube as a medium in teaching listening or listening to English. This research was conducted in MI Tarbiyah Islamiyah, Belendung District, Benda Village, Tangerang City. The sample of this research is the third grade students of MI Tarbiyah Islamiyah. Data were collected using the following techniques: tests (pre-test and post-test). Furthermore, the data were analyzed using a quantitative approach method. The results showed that after teaching there were many significant changes in using Youtube media for listening material. This is indicated by the increase in the average post-test score (65.75 to 75.50). Students' perceptions of the use of Youtube as a learning medium gave a very positive response, because the pronunciation is quite clear and the pictures are interesting.
