Abstract

This study aims to analyze the work culture and teacher motivation at the Tahfizh Entrepreneur Thursina YBM PLN Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of the boarding school leadership, teachers, and educational staff. The results show that the dominant work culture in this boarding school includes the values of sincerity, discipline, responsibility, and collaboration. These values not only create a positive work environment but also strengthen the work spirit of teachers in carrying out their duties. Teacher motivation is influenced by intrinsic factors such as spiritual calling and religious values, as well as extrinsic factors such as a supportive work environment and attention from leaders. This study also found that there is a close relationship between work culture and teacher motivation, which has a direct impact on improving their performance and dedication in guiding students. One indicator of the successful implementation of a good work culture and motivation is the implementation of weekly tasmi' activities by students. Tasmi' is the highest level of memorisation (tahfizh) education, where students memorise the Quran without consulting a mushaf, with achievements ranging from 5, 10, to 30 juz (chapters) per week. This achievement reinforces the argument that effective Islamic boarding school management plays a crucial role in developing a work culture and teacher motivation, which significantly impacts student achievement.
