Abstract
Cooperatives need to have a strategy in managing savings, loans, the number of members, and business units in order to generate an increase in the cooperative's SHU. This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of savings, loans, the number of members, and income on the remaining operating results of the Class II A Tarakan Prison Protection Cooperative. The research method used in this study is a verification method with a quantitative approach. The population in this study is monthly financial report data and savings and loan unit reports for the 2022-2024 period. The sampling technique in this study is a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique so that the sample in this study is monthly financial report data for 36 months in the 2022-2024 period. Furthermore, the data collection method uses documentation techniques. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that partially the variables of savings, loans, the number of members, and income have a significant positive effect on the cooperative's SHU. Likewise, simultaneously the four variables have a positive and significant effect on the cooperative's SHU. This indicates that the SHU (profit and loss) as the primary indicator of cooperative performance is not determined by a single factor, but rather by a combination of these four factors. Therefore, cooperatives need to consider the synergy between these factors to sustainably increase SHU.
