Abstract

Compensation is one of the motivating factors for employees to improve their performance, as the absence of compensation will have an impact on decreasing employee performance. This study aims to determine the effect of compensation on employee performance and also on work motivation. Thus, the results of this study can be used in managing motivation and compensation to maximize employee performance at UD. Dwiputra Jaya Makmur. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method. The population in this study amounted to 65 respondents. Sampling used saturated samples so that a sample of 65 respondents was obtained. The data collection technique was by distributing questionnaires directly. Meanwhile, the data analysis used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that compensation had a positive effect (0.595) and a significant effect (0.002 <0.05) on employee performance. Similarly, compensation had a positive effect (0.701) and a significant effect (0.000) on employee work motivation at UD. Dwiputra Jaya Makmur Bogor. Meanwhile, motivation has a positive effect on performance (0.201), but is not yet significant (0.432>0.05). Similarly, compensation through motivation has a positive but not yet significant effect (0.552>0.05) on employee performance at UD. Dwiputra Jaya Makmur Bogor. Fair and competitive compensation will encourage increased productivity. The company can consider providing incentives or other forms of rewards that can strengthen employee motivation to achieve targets.
