Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of labor union functions in enhancing job satisfaction and employee work motivation at PT. Widatra Bhakti Pandaan Pasuruan. Three primary union functions examined include: (1) acting as a party in formulating Collective Labor Agreements (CLA) and resolving labor disputes; (2) creating harmonious, dynamic, and equitable industrial relations; and (3) serving as a channel for employee aspirations. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, collecting data through in-depth interviews with 10 key informants, field observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that the active involvement of the All-Indonesian Workers' Union (SPSI) at PT. Widatra Bhakti in negotiating the CLA successfully bridged regulatory discrepancies regarding severance pay between the Labor Law and the Job Creation Law through a fair hybrid compromise. In industrial relations, synergy among the union, management, and the Pasuruan Manpower Office maintained the company's independent health insurance scheme alongside mandatory BPJS Health compliance. The aspiration-channeling function effectively resolved operational issues, such as adjusting coffee break schedules flexibly across departments. This study yields an original technological innovation named the WB-BERSAMA Application to digitalize aspirations, polling, and CLA transparency, sustaining employee psychological well-being and productivity.
