Abstract
This study aims to analyse the effect of leadership style, work environment, work discipline, and work motivation on employee performance at PT. Capella Multidana Medan. The study background is driven by fluctuations in automotive financing target achievements in North Sumatra during the 2021–2023 period. A quantitative associative approach using a survey method was employed. The study population comprised all 100 employees of PT. Capella Multidana Medan, with data collected using a saturated sampling (census) technique (N = 100). Data were gathered through a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire, validated for accuracy and reliability. Data analysis involved multiple linear regression via SPSS 25. The results revealed that: (1) Leadership style has a positive and significant partial effect on performance (B = 0.282, t = 3.795, p = 0.000 < 0.05); (2) Work environment has no significant partial effect on performance (B = 0.023, t = 0.331, p = 0.741 > 0.05); (3) Work discipline has no significant partial effect on performance (B = 0.135, t = 1.422, p = 0.158 > 0.05); (4) Work motivation has a positive and significant partial effect on performance (B = 0.280, t = 5.316, p = 0.000 < 0.05) and serves as the most dominant predictor; and (5) Simultaneously, leadership style, work environment, work discipline, and work motivation significantly influence employee performance (F = 32.935, p = 0.000 < 0.05) with an adjusted R-squared coefficient of determination of 0.563 (56.3%). Management is advised to prioritise intrinsic motivational drivers and transformational leadership.
