Jurnal online e-student Journal of Business Education and Social (JBES) merupakan media publikasi ilmiah mahasiswa hasil penelitian yang dilakukan mahasiswa baik secara individu maupun kelompok. jurnal ilmiah ini diterbitkan oleh Jurusan Pendidikan Ekonomi Fakultas Keguruan Universitas Islam Syekh Yusuf sejak bulan Januari 2020 dengan frekuensi 2 kali dalam setahun yaitu setiap bulan Macrh dan bulan Oktober. Jurnal ilmiah ini memuat artikel-artikel hasil penelitian lapangan, penelitian literatur, atau resensi buku. Ruang lingkup kajian yang dimuat dalam jurnal ini adalah bidang pendidikan, ekonomi, bisnis, dan ilmu-ilmu sosial lainnya. Setiap artikel yang masuk akan diseleksi dan akan dipublikasikan jika artikel memenuhi kriteria yang ditetapkan oleh pengelola jurnal. Selain itu, artikel yang akan diterbitkan akan diperiksa plagiatnya dengan batas maksimal indeks kesamaan tidak lebih dari 20% penulis sebaiknya membaca terlebih dahulu pedoman penulisan dan menggunakan teplate yang telah disediakan dan dapat diunduh pada halaman jurnal ini.

 

The e-student online journal Journal of Business Education and Social (JBES) is a media for student scientific publications resulting from research conducted by students both individually and in groups. This scientific journal has been published by the Department of Economic Education, Teacher Training Faculty, Syekh Yusuf Islamic University since January 2020 with a frequency of 2 times a year, namely every March and October. This scientific journal contains articles resulting from field research, literature research, or book reviews. The scope of studies published in this journal is in the fields of education, economics, business and other social sciences. Every article submitted will be selected and will be published if the article meets the criteria set by the journal manager. Apart from that, articles to be published will be checked for plagiarism with a maximum similarity index of no more than 20%. Authors should first read the writing guidelines and use the template that has been provided and can be downloaded on this journal page.

Peer Review

Semua naskah yang dikirimkan dibaca oleh staf editorial. Proses review menggunakan sistem double blind review. Naskah yang dievaluasi oleh editor karena tidak sesuai dengan kriteria jurnal akan segera ditolak tanpa tinjauan eksternal. Naskah yang dinilai berpotensi menarik minat pembaca kami akan dikirim ke pengulas. Redaksi kemudian mengambil keputusan berdasarkan rekomendasi reviewer dari beberapa kemungkinan: ditolak, memerlukan revisi besar, perlu revisi kecil, atau diterima.

Proses Peninjauan:

  1. Reviewer akan meninjau setiap makalah yang dikirimkan.
  2. Proses review menggunakan review double-blind, yang berarti identitas reviewer dan penulis dirahasiakan dari reviewer, dan sebaliknya.
  3. Dalam proses review, reviewer mempertimbangkan kesesuaian judul, abstrak, pembahasan (temuan) dan kesimpulan. Selain itu, reviewer juga mengkaji kebaruan, dampak ilmiah, dan referensi yang digunakan dalam makalah.
  4. Durasi proses review bisa sampai 6 bulan.

All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. The review process uses a double blind review system. Manuscripts evaluated by the editor as not meeting the journal's criteria will be immediately rejected without external review. Manuscripts that are deemed to potentially interest our readers will be sent to reviewers. The editorial team then makes a decision based on the reviewer's recommendations from several possibilities: rejected, requiring major revisions, requiring minor revisions, or accepted.

 Review Process:

  1. Reviewers will review each submitted paper.
  2. The review process uses a double-blind review, which means that the identities of the reviewer and author are kept secret from the reviewer, and vice versa.
  3. In the review process, the reviewer considers the suitability of the title, abstract, discussion (findings) and conclusions. Apart from that, reviewers also examine the novelty, scientific impact, and references used in the paper.
  4. The duration of the review process can be up to 6 months.

Author Guidelines

Writing system follows the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th and note this following guidelines

  1. Type of Paper
  • Research Article: Articles that report novel empirical findings or theoretical developments.
  • Literature Review: Articles that capture the state-of-the-art in a newly emerging or rapidly progressing research area, and provide an overview of the most relevant literature and the major theoretical implications.
  1. Manuscript Submission
  • Manuscript Type: Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.
  • Permission: Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.
  1. Title Page

          The title page should include:

  • The name(s) of the author(s)
  • A concise and informative title
  • The affiliation(s) 
  • The e-mail address
  1. Abstract

          Please provide an abstract of maximun to 250 words. The abstract should  not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.

  1. Text Formatting 

           Manuscripts should be submitted in Word.

  • Use a normal, plain font (e.g., Palatino Linotype 10 pt  ) for text.
  • Use italics for emphasis.
  • Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages.
  • Do not use field functions.
  • Use tab stops or other commands for indents, not the space bar.
  • Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables.
  • Use the equation editor or MathType for equations.
  • Save your file in docx format (Word 2007 or higher) or doc format (older Word versions).
  1. Headings

          Please use no more than three levels of displayed headings.

  1. Abbreviations

           Abbreviations should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter.

  1. Acknowledgments

           Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section on the title page. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.

  1. Citation

          Cite references in the text by name and year in parentheses. Some examples:

  • Negotiation research spans many disciplines (Thompson, 1990).
  • This effect has been widely studied (Abbott 1991; Barakat et al. 1995; Kelso and Smith 1998; Medvec et al. 1999).
  1. Reference List

           The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.Referencelist entries should be alphabetized by the last names of the first author of each work.

  • Journal names and book titles should be italicized.

We suggest all of you using software ENDNOTE, MENDELEY, ZOTERO, or EASYBIB for easily citation. References should be the most recent and pertinent literature available (about 5-10 years ago). Authors must also carefully follow APA6th Publication Manual guidelines for nondiscriminatory language regarding gender, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic identity, disabilities, and age. In addition, the terms counseling, counselor, and client are preferred, rather than their many synonyms.

  1. Tables
  • All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
  • Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
  • For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.
  • Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption.
  • Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.
