Legal protection in e-commerce transactions

Abstract

Online buying and selling transactions are one of the results of technological developments in the era of globalization. In running a business, losses can be experienced by business actors, such as non-fulfillment of achievements that should be done by consumers, often resulting in financial losses for business actors. The subject matter of this research is how legal protection for micro, small and medium enterprises in e-commerce transactions and the role of entrepreneurs in protecting their businesses from manual businesses to e-commerce. This research is an empirical juridical research which is descriptive analysis. Data sources include primary and secondary data which are analyzed qualitatively. The results show that there are steps that entrepreneurs can take to protect their business such as providing correct, clear and honest information, using a trusted payment gateway and the role of entrepreneurs in protecting their business in the e-commerce era, such as conducting employee education and training on safe cyber security practices, considering investing in sophisticated security solutions and entrepreneurs must be prepared with a detailed emergency response plan.
